Asbestos products were widely used in domestic construction during the 20th century, and surprisingly were not banned in such situations until 1999!

Here is a cold water storage tank in a 1950s bungalow. It is evidently made of cement asbestos and does pose a health and safety risk.

We recommend it is disconnected and preferably removed. A Licensed Asbestos Removal contractor should be used for such work.
