I saw this the other day at a semi detached house in Leicester.
The rockery had been removed and a nice “trendy” timber deck constructed in it’s place.
A look underneath revealed the raised site upon which the house now stands is not supported.
No evidence of structural movement….. yet. Is it only a matter of time?
Looks to me like a retaining wall needs to be built beneath the deck to avoid potential future problems.
