UPVC windows and doors are fairly maintenance free. Not everyone likes them though: they don’t necessarily suit character properties, and many older homes still have timber joinery.
It is important then to keep on top of your decorating. Neglected paintwork can lead to rot which in turn results in the need for costly repairs.
Gloss paintwork typically needs renewing on a three to five year cycle depending upon local climate and exposure factors, and the quality of the materials being used. The skill of the “craftsman” (or woman) also has a part to play!
