Housing Market Survey and Help to Buy.

RICS reports that homes sold in the UK hit an almost four year high in September as the housing market recovery continued. Prices have steadily increased since Easter, with growth across most UK regions. The exception was the North East where prices fell slightly for the second successive month.

Government schemes such as Help to Buy are enabling more buyers to access the market. Whilst the amount of homes coming onto the market also rose, it was not enough to keep pace with the increased demand.

It remains to be seen what impact Help to Buy and Help to Buy 2 will have on prices. There are concerns in some quarters that the result could be a house price “bubble”. No one,least of all industry professionals, wants that. We all know what would follow……
