Blocked Rainwater Fittings

Blocked Rainwater Fittings

Here is a modern 2001 built coach house in Queniborough. To the gable end there is a low brickiwork parapet wall and PVC gutter/downpipe.

The house is situated close to large trees which shed their leaves each Autumn. On the day I visited it was (luckily) raining so it was obvious to see the rainwater fittings were blocked.

Rainwater is spilling down the wall surface to both outside corners. If the fittings are not cleared and adjusted as necessary soon then the rain will permeate into the structure causing damage to brickwork, plaster and internal decorations.

This photo illustrates clearly the importance of regular maintenance of your home.
