Information about the traffic lights system

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) surveys help you to compare at a glance those matters that need early attention with those that do not currently need repair by giving Condition Ratings 1, 2 and 3 in a “traffic light format”.

RICS reports are user-friendly and there are three to choose from depending on your needs: RICS HomeBuyer Survey and Valuation, RICS Building Survey and RICS Condition Report.

Level 1 Survey

Level 3 survey

No repair is currently needed. The property must be maintained in the normal way.
Defects that need repairing or replacing but are not considered to be either serious or urgent. The property must be maintained in the normal way.
Defects that are serious and/or need to be repaired, replaced or investigated urgently.
